Thermographic Survey– General Information

Thermography is a visual inspection method in which temperature differences of various elements are used. Infrared radiation is measured and subsequently it is visualized using different colours that indicate different temperatures. It follows that darker colours are used for cold and lighter colours for heat.

MechaHeat provide these services within other services of offered products in the field of floor heating, heat tracing, and the heating of road surfaces and driveways. Identifying and solving the problem in these heating systems is often very time consuming and expensive.

A great advantage of a thermographic or thermal or thermal-technical survey is that the tracing of heat leakages or thermal bridges in heating cables or heating mats or other heating elements is many times easier. Apart from that, it means that a goal-directed remedy can be made. This means that, for example, in many cases a driveway can be used normally and that only limited intervention in the surface at a specific place needs to be made.

To carry out this survey, MechaHeat have state-of-the-art equipment that has been specially designed for industrial use. With this thermal camera it is possible, for example, to measure temperatures up to 350ºC and owing to its safety class (IP54) this camera is also suitable for use under difficult industrial conditions.

Apart from use for the heating of driveways, as described above, thermal survey may also be applied in operating tools, such as various lines, valves, containers, etc., and in maintaining various types of equipment (heating systems in buildings, roofs, etc.).
